01

These terms

These terms apply to the use of this website and to locksmith services provided by Carnegie Locksmith Service, 14A Koornang Rd, Carnegie VIC 3163, Australia. Nothing on this page limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

02

Information on this website

The content here is general information about locksmith services. It is not advice about a specific lock, door or property, and it is not a security assessment. Whether a particular service is appropriate depends on the hardware and the door, which requires inspection.

We take care to keep the information accurate and current, but we do not warrant that every page is free from error or omission at all times.

03

Enquiries and quotes

Submitting an enquiry or requesting a quote does not create a booking. A job is only arranged once we have confirmed it with you directly.

Any figure given before inspection is an estimate based on what you have described. If the work required turns out to be different, we will discuss it with you before proceeding rather than afterwards.

04

Access to property

We may decline to carry out work where we are not reasonably satisfied that the person arranging it is entitled to do so. Where a property is rented or under management, changes to locks generally need to be arranged with the owner or managing agent.

You are responsible for telling us about anything that affects the work, including lease conditions, body corporate rules, or hardware that is under warranty.

05

Work performed

We aim to complete work without damage to doors, frames or hardware. Some situations, particularly where a mechanism has failed or a door has been forced, cannot be resolved without damage. Where that is likely, we will explain it before starting.

Where hardware is supplied by you rather than by us, we cannot accept responsibility for its suitability, quality or performance.

06

What we do not do

We do not certify compliance with fire egress, disability access, building codes or insurance requirements. Those are matters for your building surveyor, insurer or the relevant authority.

We do not claim that any hardware makes a property impossible to enter. Security hardware raises the effort required; it does not eliminate risk.
